Terminal 1 Center, San Francisco International Airport, California
Restoration of Airport Terminal 1 Center at San Francisco International Airport is part of a $2.4 billion reconstruction project that is going to be completed in several phases from 2016 to 2024. Geopanel was the most suitable solution for reconstruction of the existing building with limited space and difficult approach to structure. It improved sustainable profitability by efficient construction of pile caps and concrete walls, eliminating the need for cranes and other heavy machinery, and reducing waste.
Our Geopanel was chosen for its benefits:
- Less expense for machinery and transport,
- Profitable solution for reconstruction projects,
- Cost-savings for construction with reusable formwork elements,
- Lean construction with low waste,
- Safer construction site.
One of the previous phases included reconstruction and redevelopment of Boarding Area B, where our Geotub was used for the construction of concrete columns.
Reconstruction project of San Francisco International Airport is aiming to receive at least Environmental LEED© Gold certification, by using sustainable construction solutions and processes.
